Arbitration
International Arbitration constitutes a substantial portion of the work undertaken by several members of Chambers. It is a focus of our New York office. Members of Chambers regularly act both as advocates and as arbitrators in the arbitrations conducted both pursuant to ad hoc procedures agreed by the parties, under the international rules of prominent arbitral bodies such as the ICC (International Chamber of Commerce), the LCIA (London Court of International Arbitration), ICSID (The International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes) and NGFA (the National Grain and Feed Association) or in accordance with the UNCITRAL Arbitral Rules. Several individual barristers are also Fellows of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
The following members of Chambers are available to sit as arbitrators, adjudicators or in expert evaluations in any dispute arising within our practice areas:
Members of Chambers also act as experts on English law in alternative dispute procedures conducted by foreign lawyers and governed by English law.
Teresa Rosen Peacocke is dual qualified as a barrister and US attorney and undertakes alternative dispute engagements conducted under US as well as English law. Jonathon Redwood is also qualified in New York and undertakes alternative dispute resolution work. This has become a particular strength of Chambers derived from our development of Chambers' New York office.
The New York office can be used for hearings of arbitrations, mediations and other forms of alternative dispute resolution and has conferences and ancillary facilities capable of acommodating substantial proceedings.
